Firebloom (not to be confused with Vileplume–…yea, I unfortunately just went there) is one of those herbs that you might have a tough time clicking on at first. They’re easy to see, given the landscapes they’re in, but damn are they small.

Or maybe it’s just me.

There aren’t a lot of zones that have this herb in them, and the zones that do don’t give you a heavy duty amount, so make sure you have time to spare if you need a lot of them. They do have a variety of uses as a mat to different professions.

FAQ

What are your PC specs?

What addons are used for farming Firebloom in WoW?

Is this a Firebloom herbalism route for Classic WoW?

No. I play retail, not Classic World of Warcraft, so these routes might not be the ones for you to go by.

In case they aren’t, you might want to check out VanillaGuides, as they might have updated Herbalism routes for Classic.

What professions benefit from Herbalism?

Obviously Herbalism is going to be your go-to profession first and foremost, because you can’t exactly pick flowers without said profession to begin with. I can’t really remember getting this herb in chests opened up in the world, or from fishing, but I suppose it’s possible.

It’s not a viable way of gathering, of course.

There are four different secondary professions you can choose from that coincide with Herbalism, as far as Firebloom goes.

  • Alchemy
  • Enchanting
  • Inscription
  • Tailoring

Alchemy gives you some interesting stuff. Sure, there’s the usual stat improvement potion, but it can also make reagents primarily for Engineering usage.

Enchanting is crafted into a couple different oils, which help the classes who use intellect in order to dish out the power behind their spells.

Inscription mills stacks of five herbs down into pigments. This isn’t an herb that can be found in a lot of zones, and you won’t get a ton from the zones it’s in, but hey, if you wanna mill it, you go ahead.

Tailoring is used to craft a couple transmog pieces that might sell for a pretty penny on the Auction House. That, or they’ll make you look really nice.

What Herbalism routes aren’t mentioned?

The zones mentioned below are ones that I tested and weren’t up to snuff. I’d originally kept one zone in this place, but decided to place it into this section, because the respawn time was terrible, unless you like flying around with nothing to gather until nodes respawn.

Sometimes this is due to me being a druid and flower-picking so fast, but other times, it’s just because there aren’t enough herbs in the zone to begin with.

Dismissed Zones

  • Badlands
This zone has very few of this herb growing around the terrain, so I didn’t see it as a necessary area for this specific herb. I mean, you can find Firebloom sure, but finding it and farming a good amount are two different things.
  • Burning Steppes
Looping a single time around this zone will net you some Firebloom. However, the respawn is terrible after that initial loop. You’ll need to keep going around and around the route until they begin respawning again. To counter that, I made an Herbalism/Mining combo route, only available in my In-Depth Farming Guide.
  • Searing Gorge
I’d like to say that the respawn time in this zone wasn’t good enough for this zone, but I may go back and look into it.

Maps, Routes, and Data

Reduced resolution
The routes in this section offer you full view of the maps in question, at a reduced resolution of 1280×720. In order to get the full resolution of 2560×1440, you’ll need to purchase my In-Depth Farming Guide. It offers a variety of routes for each zone, with all the data I’ve accumulated over the years of farming.

  • My herbalist is a Horde druid, thus giving faster herbing times.
  • Herbalism skill isn’t high enough? Then you’ll gather Firebloom Petal.
  • Overall farming time per zone: 30 minutes.

Tanaris

Farming Firebloom in Tanaris

The route is pretty direct on where to go, not much of anything in the way of obstacles or getting too close to an opposing faction. I mean, it’s a desert area, so what do you expect to see except a whole lot of sand?

If you’re curious as to how much gold you can possibly gain from the items listed below, you can always check out The Undermine Journal, choose your region, and then your realm. After that, search for the items below and see what they’ve been selling for lately.

Although Firebloom can be used to create a variety of pretty good items from other professions, it’s not a bad herb to choose to mill. You can still find a decent amount of it, even if that decent amount is primarily herbed in one area.

Requires:

  • Stacks of five of the herbs mentioned above.
