This quest is initiated by reading a letter in the mail from Gale, reminding you about the Day of the Bright Sun festival.
You’ve got several days to give him a gift, but think about what you’re going to give him and don’t delay too much. If you give him a very simple gift, such as something you can collect out in the wild–an apple or wood or stone–you’re not going to earn a lot of favor from everyone in town. So if you craft something that’s a bit higher quality, like a chair or table or something, you’re going to gain a lot more favor from everyone in town.
In other words, don’t skimp out on a good gift.
By the time the Day of the Bright Sun happens, you’ll be running around town with the other townsfolk, trying to pick up presents that a blimp drops down for you. So what other people gave Gale as gifts are some things that you might be able to obtain.
It’s a fun festival with a lot of free items–just make sure you give yourself space in your inventory.
