Lighthouse: The Dark Being, saving a baby never felt so difficult.
Check out the Intro
My Thoughts
I played Lighthouse: The Dark Being when I was a kid, and it creeped me the hell out.
Now, it’s not really meant to be scary. It’s more sci-fi based, but I have a really bad fear of thunderstorms, and the game opens up with one. No spoilers here, but I figured, okay, I’ll just stay in the house and everything. Then the cinematic came, the baby cried, which started freaking me out, and eventually I figured out I’d have to go out into the storm.
I stared outside for a long time before I turned off the game and walked away.
Big fat nope from me back then. Now days, I could probably play it and not be too phased. The storm will probably still instill a bout of anxiety, but I doubt it’d stop me.
Also, it’s been noted as a Myst clone, due to the similarities, but I never made it too far into the game to really confirm the finger-pointing. Not that it matters at this point, because both games are pretty freaking old. 1996 for Light: The Dark Being, to be more specific. Myst has a few years on it.
This game will more than likely cater to science fiction lovers and those who enjoy a good mystery and puzzler with a point and click style.
Alternate Links
There really aren’t many links when it comes to such an older game. A lot information on the game are simply reviews and some playthroughs. But I found at least one informational link.
