1694, April 4th
I have found a friend. A dear, dear friend. A good man who has sinned at times, but wishes no harm on anyone. He speaks to me with respect, and I to him likewise. Above all, he is kind. This, I think, is the greatest of things a man can be. We know our men by their wealth or by their conquests, when really we should know them by their kindness.
I shall cherish this page as it marks the moment I saw life on more favorable terms.
Goes to show not every man who’s lived a life of sin has to be an atrocious person. Then again, psychopaths tend to look like they’re better people and reveal a nicer side to them, only to manipulate you to their own whims later on.
She did say she used to love her husband, so was he nice back then? Or was he always an asshole that she thought she could change?
