The first land opening you cross into you’ll enter a fight. After that, continuing forward you’ll come across a place to enter that seems to have a ghostly presence. When you go inside, you’ll enter a cutscene where you meet Jacob Lynde and learn about haunting cases.

Solve the haunting of Jacob Lynde

Technically, this is the haunting case called The Flesh is Weak, but it’s still part of the main mission.

There are three places within the shack that you’ll need to investigate:

  • The bedroll
  • Knife next to chopped meat
  • Rope on top of a barrel

Looking at the spoiled meat will give a hint on Benedict Stoughton. You can also take the rope with you which will help in ledges of a greater height.

Near to where Jacob sits is Jacob’s Bible.

Leave the cabin and keep to the path to the left the entire way until you can climb over the ledge with the rope you’ve obtained. At the bottom, switch to Antea. You’ll want to travel to a crystallized area and clear it away for a fight.

Check the spectral energy and do a harkening ritual for a scene to play out.

Go to where you can shimmy along the cliff’s edge and make your way down.

There’s a bit of a bloodtrail going from the water where purple flowers are growing to around the bend, which is where Ben had been dragged to.

After checking him out, go back to the rope you’d climbed down for a fight. After that, return to Jacob’s cabin–initiating another fight when you’re close enough.

Enter his cabin and interact with the bowl on the desk.

Perform a make-manifest ritual. Once summoned, speak to Benedict.

Now head outside and talk to Jacob.

This is an important part in the game where you initiate a closure. From this point on, when it comes to cases like these, you’ll be able to decide the fates of the people and ghosts in question to either move toward the point of bringing Antea back to the living, or allowing her to ascend.

Rest up at Jacob’s hovel

Go inside, build a fire, and rest. During a conversation afterwards, you’ll swear an oath.
