Charles’ Invitation is a quest item within the game Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden.
Charles’ Invitation
Antea,
I hope this letter finds you free of other work, as we in New Eden are desperate for your help.
The town has fallen prey to a sneaking and malicious curse. A haunting is behind it, I am convinced of it, but although our food is rotted and sickness prevails and our very sanity is shaken, I cannot find the ghost.
I urge you to join Esther and I in New Eden as soon as you can. I don’t know how much longer I can hold.
Truly yours,
Minister Charles Davenport
This is something you’ve already got on you as soon as you enter the game and start playing as Antea. You can check it out in your inventory, and it kind of sets up what the game is going to be like, as far as the characters you play as and what you’re tasked to do.
It’s already mentioned that we’re basically the best Banishers out there.
And with the cutscenes of the undead being around it’s obvious that we’re the kind of people that get rid of the dead–either skeletons, ghouls, spirits, and the like.
It makes me wonder if this is all just the natural order of things with magic being part of the world, or if there are people like necromancers or witches of some sort that cause certain hauntings. Or maybe it’s like within the Supernatural lore of people who die sometimes just stick around and their ghosts go a bit insane while stuck on either due to grudges and such.
I mean, it’s the start of the game, so who knows at this point except the characters we control.
