The This is Sparta! achievement is obtained after first killing the three generals during the Battle of 300, which is at the start of the game Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
When you first start Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, you’re thrown into a scene before heading into the infamous Battle of 300.
During this battle, you’ll learn the bare minimum of combat–which is simply a light attack and one of your abilities called Bull Rush. (There’s definitely more to the combat, but we won’t get into that here.) With whatever combat style you’re able to achieve, you’ll need to first kill the three generals, which will have a yellow icon above their head.
You can also tell the generals from the normal soldiers because they’ll have the gold wrapped around the level above their head, and the normal soldiers don’t.
After you kill the three generals, the other enemy is off to the side that will initiate a cutscene. Kill this guy, whose name is Kurush, and then you’ll obtain the achievement.
Why didn’t I get the achievement?
The only way you might not get this achievement is if you go straight for the major bad guy (Kurush) off to the side.
That in itself will trigger a cutscene and you won’t be able to get back to where you were to finish off any generals you missed out on.
