Debt Collector is part of the main mission Another Day, Another Drachma in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey within Kephallonia Islands.
Debt Collector Guide
Reach the bandit camp to rescue Phoibe
Head to the bandit’s camp, which is on Ktimene Beach in the Coast of Koliadai, southeast of Sami. Once you get close enough, a small cutscene will begin.
Kill the bandit
At this point the game gives you a few more clues on what to do when it comes to assassinating people unseen. The enemies here are all easy to assassinate (there are four of them in total, including the first), but I suppose if you’re just plain sloppy, they may see you and initiate hand-to-hand combat.
The first bandit requires a straight-up assassination with you crouching in the foliage.
Kill the remaining bandits
The second bandit can be killed by first whistling to attract his attention. While you’re still crouched, assassinate him. The other two bandits can be snuck up on from behind and dealt with.
Free Phoibe
Once they’re gone, look through the Treasure then set Phoibe free. (Yes, I go for the treasure first, then the girl. Priorities and all that.)
Collect the money from the merchant in Sami
At the end of the cutscene, you’ll learn about Bounty Hunters, and acquire the side mission A Fight with Talos. You’ll want to avoid him for now, unless you think your skills at combat are really good.
If I’m not mistaken, the more thievery and killing you do, the closer he gets to your area in a faster manner.
Meet with Duris at his shop in the town of Sami. You can run along the coastline and get there quick–he’s near the blacksmith. Speak with him to initiate an end to Debt Collector.
The first set of options for conversation don’t matter, so choose whichever suits your personality. On the second set of options, you’ll want to be a bit pickier.
- I won’t leave without the drachmae. (100 drachmae)
Well since Duris won’t give you the drachmae willingly, you’ll either need to attack him, or break items at his shop. He’ll give you the drachmae. - I’ll leave you alone now.
He thanks you and gives you his weapon, Duris’ Sword. It should be a decent upgrade at this point in time.
If you’re wondering if Duris’ Sword is worth it, here are the stats at max level:Rarity DPS (Lvl 99) Default Engravings Rare 7469 +23% Warrior Damage
+20% Assassin Damage
Should you kill Duris?
Honestly, if you want the gold, then you can attack the pottery around him and destroy it. He’ll give you the drachmae without any of the initial conversation. However, if you want to kill him, thinking that you’ll reap some rewards once his dead body hits the ground, think again.
It’s extremely difficult to attack Duris with your weapon, since you can’t lock onto him, and your swings will automatically go toward the pottery. Since that would give you drachmae, killing him afterwards will give you nothing in return.
What I’m saying is you can’t have your cake and eat it too.
You get one or the other, but not both.
Return to Markos
Now, return to Markos for another cutscene.
Follow Drucilla to her workshop
Follow Drucilla so she can repair your bow. Go too quickly and she’ll stop to wait for you to come back.
Once she’s done fixing your bow, aim it at the two targets as requested.
Talk to Drucilla
By speaking with Drucilla, you complete the quest.
