Debt Collector in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

Debt Collector is a quest in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. You need to rescue Phoibe from thugs, and then collect money from Duris.

Debt Collector

Reach the bandit camp to rescue Phoibe

Location of Phoibe

Head to the bandit’s camp, which is on Ktimene Beach in the Coast of Koliadai, southeast of Sami. Once you get close enough, a small cutscene will begin.

Assassinate tutorial

You’ll get several tutorials for this section that involves stealth gameplay.

The first being crouch once you’re detected and to hide in tall grass. You’ll know you’re hidden when your health bar has a slash over the eye. While stealthed, once the enemy is close enough, you can assassinate them.

This goes the same for sneaking up behind enemies.

Whistle to attract attention

Next up is whistling in order to attract an enemy’s attention and bring them closer to you.

The two remaining bandits can be snuck up on and eliminated.

Bounty hunter Talos

At the end of the cutscene, you’ll learn about Bounty Hunters, and acquire the side mission A Fight with Talos. You’ll want to avoid him for now, meaning don’t attract too much attention to yourself and your whereabouts.

Dialogue choices

Speak with Duris at his shop in the town of Sami. You can run along the coastline and get there quick–he’s near the blacksmith.

The first set of options for conversation don’t matter, so choose whichever suits you. On the second set of options, you’ll want to be a bit pickier.

  1. I won’t leave without the drachmae.
Duris won’t give you the drachmae willingly. You’ll either need to attack him once, or break items at his shop. He’ll then give you the drachmae.
  2. I’ll leave you alone now.
He thanks you and gives you his weapon, Duris’ Sword.

If you’re wondering if Duris’ Sword is worth it, here are the stats at max level:

RarityDPS (Lvl 99)Default Engravings
Rare7469+23% Warrior Damage
+20% Assassin Damage

Should you kill Duris?

If you kill Duris, you won’t get anything but the loot from his body, and that could be a small amount of drachmae. It won’t net you the money you’d get if he gave you the debt money himself.

Not only that, but he’s hard to hit due to not having a lock-on feature.

So no, killing Duris isn’t beneficial.

Should you take the drachmae from Duris?

To me, drachmae is more beneficial to you than a weapon, which is what you can obtain if you leave Duris alone. With drachmae, you’re able to buy engravings and upgrades and even materials from vendors.

Plus, you’re bound to get better weapons eventually, even if you don’t have the best weapons at the moment.

So yes, I’d say taking the drachmae from Duris is a higher priority.

Should you leave Duris alone?

By choosing to leave Duris alone, he’ll give you his sword as thanks. It’s rare, and there’s a possibility it’ll help you out more at this point in the game than other weapons you own. The stats on it are for both warrior and assassin, so if you’re more hunter, you might not want it.

Likewise, if you request the money from Duris, he won’t outright give it to you, meaning technically you’ve left him alone. You just don’t get money or a weapon if you leave it at that.

Return to Markos

Now, return to Markos.

Follow Drucilla so she can repair your bow. Go too quickly and she’ll stop to wait for you to come back.

Once she’s done fixing your bow, aim it at the two targets as requested and shoot them with your arrows.
