A Family Ordeal is a quest within the game Assassin’s Creed Odyssey within the region of Megaris.

Find and gather the medicinal herbs (0/3)
You can find this quest on the east side of Megaris, just above the Port of Nisaia. You might recognize the quest-giver as she’s the same one you might’ve tried to woo back on the mission A Small Odyssey.
You can once again try to get on her good graces when you speak with her, depending on the choices you make. I’ll make note of the best ones, but you might choose another that will still be good enough to woo her.
The first choices are:
- Stop complaining
- That sounds terrible
- I forgot how beautiful you are
Obviously the one you’ll want to choose is the last, with the heart next to it. The other ones will illicit a grouchy response due to the fact that she’s unable to travel and make a name for herself. The last one kind of makes her forget about her problems and see you as a “welcome distraction.”
The next set of options is up for you to choose, as they won’t make a difference.
Once the conversation is over, send Ikaros out toward the west to look for where the herbs are. Once you find them, head over and pick them–be mindful there’s usually a wolf prowling about around them.
Buy the mixture
Head into Megara where you’ll find a merchant you can speak with for the mixture. There’s a couple ways to go about this, but when you speak with him, here are your choices:
- I’ll pay you (50) – This just means you’ll be paying 50 drachmae in order to get the mixture. Something you can easily get by selling gear.
- Give it to me, or else – You’ll have to kill him and loot his corpse for it, something that will increase your bounty.
- Odessa said she’d pay you next time – Honestly, I didn’t see any major outcome with this one.
If you don’t want to purchase it from him in any way regarding those options, there’s also a Treasure behind him that has the mixture in it. Just know that taking it from there will increase your bounty.
Bring the items back to Odessa
Once you return to Odessa, some enemies will come at you and her. They’ve got poison weapons on them–melee and ranged. After they’re dead, loot them for an Ambusher’s Note. You can then once again speak with Odessa.
By the way, there’s no way to see them anywhere beforehand–I’ve searched.
