A Name for a Family is a side mission of the game Greedfall, falling under the category of Vasco’s Quests.

A Name for a Family Guide

Scout the Harbour Master’s Office

Go to the appropriate location for a cutscene.

Acquire sleeping pills

A Name for a Family

Go to the merchant and buy 4 sleeping potions. Alternatively, you could create the sleeping potions at a crafting station if you have Science as well as the ingredients.

Convince Dieter, the owner of the brothel, to help you

A Name for a Family

As soon as you enter the tavern, head for the corner where the staircase is. If you haven’t already, pay the entry fee (25 coin). Speak to Lieutenant Dieter downstairs, behind the door.

  • Talk about the drink shipments to the Nauts
    1. [Charisma] Try to convince him
    2. Offer a bribe (100 coin)

Dress up as Nauts

Wear the proper torso piece. If you’re not sure, as soon as you try one on and exit the menu, the game will checkmark this step. I used the Sailor’s Coat, myself.

The emblem should be a dark blue-ish gray background.

Return to the port when ready

You won’t be able to do anything until nightfall. If it isn’t nightfall, you’ll get a prompt if you want to wait or not.

Infiltrate the Harbour Master’s Office

If you managed to use the sleeping potion on the guards, then you’re free to maneuver around as you please, because everyone is down for the count. If you didn’t, then it’s a bit of a different approach. You’ll need to be sneaky.

Head the back way for a stealthier approach. There’s a key sitting on a crate. It’s glowing, so you really shouldn’t miss it, but if you have Lockpicking (level 2), you won’t need the key.

A Name for a Family

Go through the locked door in question.

Steal Vasco’s personal file

A Name for a Family

The chest holding Vasco’s personal file is in the back part of the second floor.

Find Vasco to assess the situation

If you killed someone, your reputation with Vasco will suffer. This means if you killed any of his people in a previous scenario, before you even took this mission, he will not be a happy camper.

After completing the quest peacefully, you’ll gain Vasco Reputation: +3 and 1000 XP.
