Explanation to Negative Feedback
Text box problems
This is clearly not good when the game you’re playing is a visual novel, but the text is quite small and at the very bottom of the screen. Not only that, but it doesn’t have the best background for it to stand out, nor have an outline to the text, so sometimes it’s harder to read than other times, depending on the scene.
Our second problem with the text box is that you don’t know half the time when the character is speaking or when they’re thinking. There are no quotation marks, and for the most part, no italics.
And if there are italics, I didn’t notice, because…text problems.
Third, you have to either click the continue button or within the text area itself in order to get the next portion of text. You can’t click anywhere else on the screen, and the spacebar also doesn’t work.
Fourth, the text box has this weird glitch where it goes through two or three quick text sequences before giving you the actual text to read. It’s difficult to explain, but there’s three versions of text, and it almost looks like it’s skipping, but it’s not.
Sixth, and last, they write out sound effects instead of just using a sound effect in-game, or, you know, describing it, like most visual novels would do. Instead, it’ll just be like, “incoming train sound” which…is dumb, for lack of a better word.
No save option
I don’t care how short this game is, it should have come with a save option. Especially considering the game comes with a quick escape out of it in case you’re about to get caught playing by someone you don’t want to see you playing it.
Nobody wants to fast forward to where they were and possibly miss parts they forgot to read or look at, y’know?
Explanation to Positive Feedback
Animated adult scenes
There are scenes that have a still image, but after that, you get an animated scene. I mean, I do enjoy the animated scenes, though don’t think that it’s just looping every five seconds, like I did on the first scene. The camera does pan around and maybe give you another shot, but when it loops to the start again, it’s not a smooth transition.
That’s probably my only gripe on this one.
Quick bail keybind
The game has a keybind you can press in order to quickly exit out of the game. Which would be amazing…if there was an auto-save feature or something, but there’s not.
Still, I’ve had my mom walk in on me while I was in the middle of an adult game (but not yet on an explicit scene), so maybe they’re onto something here.
