What Must Be Done… is an alliance quest in Azuremyst Isle per The Burning Crusade expansion of World of Warcraft.
The nearby lake has been contaminated by one of the ship’s power crystals. Many of the plants and animals of Ammen Vale have been mutated because of this.
I have a theory on how to heal the lake, but I must have samples from the mutated lashers for analysis. They can be found to the west in the Ammen Fields.
Will you help me, <class>?
Quest Objective:
Gather 10 Lasher Samples and return them to Botanist Taerix at the Crash Site in Ammen Vale.

After dealing with the volatiles, your next step is to deal with the root lashers. So head on over to the west side where there’s a field of purple. Here, the destruction of the pestilent flowers begins.
Oddly enough, in Ammen Vale, I don’t recall ever getting any kind of loot aside from quest items or grays. As of doing this quest, however, I managed to snag me a couple Malachite gems.
