Tattered Chest is obtainable in a lot of the lower level, starter zones.
It’s not likely that there are going to be any kind of rare and valuable items in these chests, but the contents can still help lower levels. Not only that, some of the items may sell decently on the auction house.
- Outlaw Rogues can track treasures.
- Demon Hunters can use Spectral Sight to seek any nearby.

What can you find in Tattered Chest?
It depends on the location where you opened the chest (whether it was a zone meant for higher or lower levels), but these are the items I’ve personally come across. (I don’t include any grey items!)
