Explanation to Negative Feedback

Cell texts are slow

In the beginning you have the option of going through several texts, and you know when someone’s in the process of texting, you see the three dots? Yeah, that happens here at the start of someone texting and it just takes way too long for the text to come through.

Especially with the boss, because they’ve got a long paragraph coming through, and I guess that needs extra time.

Shepherding game went on too long

Shepherd's Eye

While this game mainly consists of a visual novel, there are sections that split up the VN aspect with some mini-games, and one of those mini-games is for the dog to shepherd a certain amount of sheep into pens.

There were five different sections to the shepherd game. At the fifth one, I was done.

Literally done.

I just waited until the timer ran out, which didn’t matter because I had to start the level over again, implying that I had to do it, because there’s no skip function. I was a little irked at this, but on trying to find the final sheep, there was a section above that I could go through to enter a little scene. So technically, it wasn’t all about shepherding, but I still say five times is too much.

I was good at three.

Jump scares too loud

There were two of them that happened during my time in playing the demo and the first one was crazy loud, even though my master volume was probably at a 25% and all the other sliders were at 100. I’d hate to have heard it with the volume at max because I don’t think my eardrums would’ve been pleased.

I get that jumpscares are sometimes just sound that make you jump…but that sound should be sudden and out of nowhere. Not incredibly loud.

Explanation to Positive Feedback

Title screen music slaps

That’s such a stupid way to word it and I apologize, but I really liked just sitting on the title screen and listening to the music. It’s something that you just kind of bob your head to and think, all right, I could dig it if the game came up with more stuff like this.

It definitely got my attention from the start.

Choices have consequences

Shepherd's Eye

Not every choice is going to have a consequence, I don’t think, but there are definitely times when you’ll notice if you’ve chose an answer that you’ll either regret or come to agree with, just as much as the characters do.

Normally a notification will happen in the upper right if a choice has made something of an outcome.

Then there are times where you have an item that you can choose to do something with, and that may bite you in the butt in the future, so it’s not always answer-based.

You can, in fact, make a choice that can ultimately screw your game over, if the ending I got is anything to go by in the demo.

Quirky characters

Shepherd's Eye

The characters are quite fun to speak to and get to know. And I like quirky characters because it’s very disarming when they actually turn for the worse, because you feel blind-sided in the end.

Not saying that these people would do that, but…

In a psychological horror game, it does start to make you suspicious of everyone, as they can’t all possibly be likeable without some caveats, right?

But yeah, for once, I don’t think there’s a character I dislike so far in the game, personality-wise.
