Boring environment

Sex Empire - Episode 1

We’re in an exquisite palace, but I really don’t feel like we are. Maybe it’s because we’re mainly stuck to one room and there’s not a whole lot in here that screams luxury, and maybe not every palace is going to do that, but it just feels so drab.

I think perhaps it’s because the walls are a darker color and it just doesn’t allow vibrancy due to the vacancy of the room.

A lot of video games put in props for rooms you’re going to be visiting. Not this game. They bare-bonesed it.

Repetition

Holy crap, I know if you’re regal and important, then you’re going to speak to them by using their title, but man. They say each other’s titles and names so often when they talk, as if they’re afraid you’re going to forget who they’re speaking to.

It’s like if someone was talking to you and saying your name in almost every sentence.

Make it stop.

Gallery available immediately

You don’t even have to read the visual novel and see the scenes first hand before they become available. They’re just automatically there for you to look at when you open the game for the first time. And, let’s face it, if you’re spending five dollars to look at these adult scenes…you might not realize that there’s better stuff for free on the internet.

Also, it just gives away the whole theme the game was going for.

Scene transitions fade

Perhaps the only pro aside from getting adult scenes you…kinda sorta wanted.

In most visual novels, the scene can just immediately jump from one image to another, but this game allows the scene to slowly fade into the next image. I like the fact that it takes its time in doing so, because it doesn’t provide so much of a distraction to pull you away from what you’re currently reading.

You can read what’s on the screen and then look at the image which will already be different from the last.

I don’t know. It’s not a huge advantage in the grand scheme of things, but it’s something.
