Saving Foreman Oslow is part of an alliance quest chain in Redridge Mountains per Classic World of Warcraft.

Saving Foreman Oslow How-To

<Upon touching the orb you hear a faint click.>

<You remove the orb from the pedestal.>

<You now control the orb, therefore you now control the ettins. Maybe you can use an ettin to remove the huge boulder currently crushing Foreman Oslow over at Lakeshire. Find an ettin and use the orb on the ettin. Then head over to Lakeshire.>

Quest Objectives:

Use the Ettin Control Orb to control an Ettin and then use the Ettin Control Orb on your Subdued Canyon Ettin to lift the Huge Boulder off of Foreman Oslow at Lakeshire.

Saving Foreman Oslow Guide

  • Starts: Ettin Control Orb (17,19)
  • Ends:  Magistrate Solomon (28,40)

Once you have the control orb in your possession after completing He Who Controls the Ettins quest, leave the cave and look for an Ettin that’s wandering around the area. They are giant beings and there’s usually at least two walking different paths.

If you can’t find any, someone else may be on the quest, or killed one. They respawn fairly quickly.

Once you find one, no need to attack. Get close enough and use the Ettin Control Orb. It’s got a cast time to it, so don’t move or you’ll cancel the effect.

Now travel down the the bridge at the edge of Lakeshire at 31,43. There’s usually a big boulder here, but the quest has been bugged for quite some time. In fact, even after saving Oslow, the Ettin will hang around you for a while longer until despawning.

Activate the orb again and the mission is complete. Go into the Town Hall and turn the quest in.
