Explanation to Negative Feedback

Weird intro screen

Quadrangle

There’s not technically a title screen. Instead. you’re on a screen where you can move your character left and right, and when you go to the left, there’s what looks like a floating phone and it says “LMB – Loading world date.”

This means it’s your load menu, for whenever you’ve already got a save state.

The center portion of the screen states “F – Enter the world,” which is play the game.

And then the right side states “LMB World settings,” which is the actual settings for the game.

I feel like they tried to be cute with naming things different stuff and trying a unique tactic, but personally, I hate it. Give me the normal title screen with its unoriginal menu buttons over trying to figure out what this new stuff is.

No fullscreen option

Quadrangle

You can change the graphics to match your resolution (to a certain extent), but there’s no fullscreen mode, meaning it starts and basically stays in windowed. It’s not a huge deal breaker, but I just hate being able to see what’s not part of the game on my monitor.

And there might be a way to full screen it, but even so, it’ll have that top border around it, which I still find annoying.

It’s a con either way.

Different artwork for characters

You know what, our main character is cute and the artwork for her is nice.

But then we got to a scene that introduced other characters and I was like, woah, hold up, there’s two different art styles going on here. That’s when I realized AI had to be involved somehow. But I don’t know why, because the main character we play as clearly looks hand-drawn.

What’s the password?

This is the entire reason that this game is a one-star.

It’s near the very beginning of the game, too, mind you, but we find a note with a password on it. And then there’s a paper with a map with an X, signifying there’s something in the room on the second floor. We go up there, and it’s locked. It needs a password.

Cool, we have one.

I put it in, and it doesn’t work.

I looked all around the two floors, which are the only two places you can look around, and the floors are short, and there’s only so many items you can find. Aside from a shovel, some flowers, a couple posters I didn’t need, and a business card, there was nothing.

It was stated there was something strange about the business card, but I input those numbers and nothing happened.

At this point…there’s no way to move forward until you open that door, that I know of. And because the code doesn’t work on the door–and I tried different combinations of it, that door remained shut, and my gameplay went no further.

Maybe fifteen minutes of gameplay.

Granted, it’s a demo, so maybe that’s where the demo ends–before you even get the door open. But either way…it’s a little ridiculous.

AI usage

The Steam store states this:

Some character CG drafts and partial visual materials were created with the assistance of AI tools.
Additionally, AI-generated voice lines were used for some characters.
No AI is used to generate content dynamically during gameplay.

Tells you what items are useless

Quadrangle

You have a limited amount of items you can carry, and I think it’s five. But you can look at the items you gather and it’ll typically tell you when it’s worthless or not needed, and there’s a discard button to toss it out.

I don’t know what happens if you toss out a useful item, but I’m going to assume you’ll have to restart the level and not toss it out.
