Meet the Theleme governor and ask about the malichor
When you head down the steps, you’ll run into Mr de Courcillon and a cutscene that’ll automatically give you the quests:
- Exploration and Cartography
- In Professor Serafeddin’s Footsteps
Now, back to the actual quest. Make sure Siora is not in your party. Make your way to San-Matheus.
As you go through the city, you’ll come across a cutscene.
- Confirm your faith
- Matheus
- The Magic of Light (Theleme Reputation: +1)
- [Charisma] Insist on her diplomatic function. (Theleme Reputation: +1)
- Renounce your faith in this god. (Theleme Reputation: -1)
What happens if Siora is in your party?
If you choose to confirm your faith, even if you make the right answers, you’ll still be attacked with a reputation loss. (Yeah, he’s an asshole like that.)
Head into the palace for a cutscene. Continue up the steps and speak with the governor through the door. Once done, dismiss someone to add Petrus to your party.
Meet the Bridge Alliance governor and ask about the malichor
Fast travel to New Serene, De Sardet Residence. Now head out the proper roadway to reach Glendgnamvar, “The Shore of the Tall Bones.” Continue following the path to Region of Hikmet.
Personally, I’d choose Vasco and Kurt here. Once you’ve decided on your party, however, go to the Governor’s Palace to speak with the governor.
If you brought Siora, there’s additional dialogue.
- Ask Siora to be quiet (Siora Reputation: -1 and Bridge Alliance Reputation: +1)
- Ask Siora politely to let you speak
- Take Siora’s side (Siora: Reputation: +1 and Bridge Alliance Reputation: -1)

Talk to Constantin about the two nations’ leads about the malichor
Fast travel to New Serene, De Sardet Residence, and enter the palace to speak with Constantin.
- Report the Encounters with the Governors. (Congregation of Merchant: +1)
I was able to obtain Kurt’s second quest Amongst the Ghosts after completing this one.
