The New Builder is a quest within the game My Time at Sandrock.
The New Builder Guide
Find in Junk Piles:
You’ll need 4 Stone and 2 Wood to complete this task. While there are a variety of junk piles scattered about the land, there are only two of them you need to focus on. You also don’t need any tools in order to search through them. You just get down and dirty with your hands.
Make on Worktable
The worktable is at your home as a little desk sitting against the fence.
Interact with it and create the only thing you can at this point: the Pickhammer.
Talk to Yan
Find Yan and speak with him. He’ll usually be in the Commerce Guild building.
Construct on Assembly Station
Go back home and interact with your assembly station which is to the right. While the materials you need are listed on the right-hand side of your screen for your tracked quest, they’re also listed when you view the Recycler in the book.
After you have everything listed, approach the ghost image of the Recycler and place the items where they’re needed.

Crafted:
- 2 Grinding Saws

For the 8 Dinas and 14 Stone, you can find them by using your pickhammer on the Gravel you can find. At this point, you’ll only be able to pick apart the smaller Gravel rocks, but there are larger ones out there that are more boulders than anything else.
As for the Wood, you can find it inside of Wood Piles, but don’t forget all the bushes and trees, such as Yakthorn and Yellow Lavender that you can cut down once you pick up the Stone Axe that’s on the ground in your workshop.
You’ll want to leave the cacti alone, because you’ll get a scolding if you chop them down.
But you can cut down the Ball Cactus.
Talk to Yan
Head on over to him and receive your pat on the head.
