AI art all over the place

I don’t mind AI art in some games like this; I’m sure that makes me one of the few, but whatever. To each their own.

What I do have a problem with is when things aren’t consistent. A lot of the character models have a kind of anime look to them, then there are realistic looking scenes, and then there’s some characters that just don’t fit the same visual concept as someone else.

Specifically Drago.

I don’t know what happened. If they created his character model at a different time than the other characters, but yeah, he’s the odd one out.

Especially when he comes into play later in the game. He looks completely different than what he does in the first couple chapters he appears in.

I had to stare at him for a moment just so it’d sink in that it’s the new visual for him.

Something else I noticed is within a bar scene where we’ve got our girlfriend at the forefront and the background consists of random NPCs. Those NPCs are more realistic because they’re fitting into the realistic style of the background itself, making our girlfriend model look a little odd around all of them.

It’s literally like walking in a crowded area and there’s an anime character in the crowd.

Volume button

There’s a volume button on the bottom right of the screen as you play, and I thought that maybe this button would mute the music and allow for the more sensual noises, but no.

It cuts the volume entirely.

I don’t know why someone would want to play this game with absolutely no sound to it, so I don’t know why this would even be an option. But if it were to cut the music to allow other sound effects during certain scenes, it would be much more useful.

Visual button

I’m placing this into the cons section because once again I thought it would do something more useful than what it actually does.

Like the volume it’s at the bottom right of the screen. When you click on it, the text doesn’t disappear like most games will do–hide the interface so you can see everything on the screen when it counts. Instead, it hides the black background that makes the text easier to read.

So it makes the text harder to read.

I mean, the background color is gone so you can see the scene better, but the text is still there so not as useful as it could’ve been.

Esme’s seance is…unique

Moonripple Lake

I’m not the most knowledgeable person when it comes to seances, but as far as I know…you sit with a medium at a table, clasp hands, they connect with the spirit and then you get the answers you want through the medium.

Esme does things a little differently.

She physically connects with something else. And has a spiritual release, let’s say.

Whatever works though, right?

Optional NTR routes

Our character really loves pushing our girl to get with another person and try some sensual things with them, and some people are perfectly fine with exploring their kinks with others while having a significant other watch and urge them on with dirty talk.

But some people would rather not cross that line.

Therefore, you’ve got choices that will take you through non-NTR routes, and choices for those who are all in.

Quest notepad looks nice

Moonripple Lake

I don’t know, guys. I just like how we’re actually holding a notepad and looking at the quests that have a small amount of information on them. Although, some might find the descriptive text hard to read just by the font choice they went for.

Partial voice acting

This gets a bit better later on in the storyline when you meet up with Silas, as he’s basically the only main voice acted character. Some of the other characters might have one-liners once in a blue moon, which is really weird.

But this is an early access game I’m reviewing at the moment, so maybe they’ll have more voice acting later on down the line.

Otherwise, you’ve got your typical moans and slurps and sounds of enjoyment.

Animations get better

They are…not that great at all at the start of the game. They’re very simplistic with one image transitioning to another image in order to make it look like movement, but it’s terrible to watch.

As you progress through the game you can see that they put a bit more work into the animations to make them look better. They’re still not the greatest out there, but it’s better than what the start of the game had.

Alongside these animation, they’ve also made an effort to create movement of the characters in the scene without them actually moving.

So during one conversation point our girl could be facing left, and the next dialogue has her facing right. It gives the idea of movement, of her pacing or looking around or whatever instead of simply having a static image the entire time. I like that they did this.

Visual options

At the beginning of the game, it mentions that there are some jumpscares. For those of you not wanting to soil yourself when one of these jumpscares happen, they give you an option to see a fluffy duck instead.

Let’s be honest, there’s nothing sexy about crapping your pants while playing an adult game with adult scenes in it.

How can you possibly touch yourself after that?

Not only that, but there’s also an option to disable any kind of femboy/futa content, for the people who just aren’t into them and prefer the simplistic male and female genders of the world. I get it though, too much of a good thing is overstimulating, and that’s a turn-off in itself.
