Explanation to Negative Feedback

Only one adult scene

Although there are two visuals that portray adult scenes, there’s only one main one. Think of the first one as an initial tease.

The main scene though…it’s a con, because you’d probably want something a little extra in a game like this, especially from a first episode that wants to draw people into a game that’s going to be episodic in nature, but despite being the only scene, it does last.

There’s no animation, but the visuals are good, and they don’t show the scene as a short little stunt and then move on. It’s pretty in-depth with conversation and what’s going on.

That’s about the only good thing to come of it…which is still good, despite being a con.

Bad choice of font

Monster Ops
Example of the font choice

It’s not so bad when you’re reading it on your own, because if your eyes trip over some of the words, you’ll correct yourself mentally as it happens. But for someone like me who does commentary and reads out loud, this font isn’t the best to work with.

The “a”s look like “o”s, and vice versa, and that causes for some stumbling every now and then.

Explanation to Positive Feedback

I learned many new metaphors

Monster Ops
One of the metaphors

About seeing a few different metaphors pass by, I was a little worried that the text would be littered with them as the game continued, but I think there’s a safe amount in the game as a whole. I don’t think it went overboard, but it was on the brink of a bit much, let’s say.

I found some interesting ones though, so there’s that.

Nice visuals

Monster Ops
Commander’s stance changes
Monster Ops
Balasque’s expression and stance changes

As far as the first free episode, it does offer some nice visuals. Not a whole lot of different environments to go by or scenes and such, and the models of each character don’t have a lot of movement to them, except for maybe their facial expressions and occasional stance change.

But even so, I appreciate the slight changes.

Though they’re almost imperceptible at times due to looking down at the text to read and not at the characters themselves, since there’s no voice acting to allow your eyes to wander more freely.
