Combat Training Walkthrough
Combat Training is part of The League of Shadows in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight. You’ll learn more about dodging, countering, hit counters, and enemy takedowns.
Combat Training
Go to the combat dojo
Before you go anywhere, if you love destroying objects for studs, this main area is the perfect place to get a lot of them. Each time you complete a section and end up here, all the objects respawn again, making it worth your while to constantly get more studs from this area alone.
But if you’re in a rush, go through the crossed swords door and up the staircase.
Dodge the shurikens 0/3
You’ve already learned how to use a basic attack and dodge, so this is just teaching you something else you have to dodge aside from someone swinging their arm for a punch.
Basically make sure you dodge when the shuriken shines, but also when the line pulsates, if your eyes aren’t on the shuriken itself.
Do this three times.
Counter the attacks 1/5
Every time you see the proper keybind above an enemy’s head, you’ll want to tap it to initiate a counterattack. That’s not to say you’ll have to always counter that enemy, you can also attack them which will cancel their attack.
Performing your first counter will initiate the achievement Caped Defender.
Counter the enemies five different times in total.
Defeat the ninjas
Here’s where you learn about the hit counter to your basic attacks.
Yep, the game has a hit counter that you can enthusiastically increase to as high as you can without taking too much time to attack another enemy or being hit. Although there are times it resets for me and I’m not entirely sure why.
You’ll need to defeat two waves of ninjas.
Defeat the remaining ninjas
Now we learn about enemy takedowns, which you can do once you’ve gathered enough energy by attacking and countering enemies. A prompt will automatically come up whenever you’re close enough to an enemy to do a takedown, as long as you have enough energy for it.
Meaning you don’t have to keep a constant eye on your energy bar.
For this battle, just keep destroying enemies until you can do a takedown. If you happen to initiate another group for battle before doing a takedown, you’ll have to defeat all of them until the next scene.
During this battle, I completed two challenges–Counter Measures and Untouchable–which goes to the achievement Up for the Challenge.
