Hogwarts Legacy, it’s so much more than a swish and flick.
I don’t care who says what, if you want to play as a Hogwarts witch or wizard, that doesn’t make you any less of a muggle. Just maybe don’t try to Levioso any household objects of a high value. You might regret it.
But you won’t regret this game.

Who is this game for?
Explanation to Negative Feedback
No quidditch
I’m wondering if this will be implemented in the future as a form of PvP. But until then, no, you will not be able to play quidditch.
Robotic voice
Now I’m saying this coming from the witch side of voices, but probably three of them have a robotic note to them with they speak and it’s a bit cringe.
You can’t be evil
You can make rude choices when it comes to conversations, like taking someone’s personal item for yourself, or making the student give you money in order to have it back. You can even learn the three Unforgivable Spells. But these things will not lead you to a path of evil. Unless it’s just in your mind.
Explanation to Positive Feedback
Amazing environmental detail
Seriously, we’re running around in Hogwarts which has a vast amount of paintings on the walls and architecture decorating the halls. And then you go outside and get on your broomstick and it’s like…wow. Hogwarts Legacy will make you pause what you’re doing and actually take a moment to look at everything around you.
Play in style
There’s transmog in this game, so you can create an outfit that’s you. And not only that, but you can customize what your wand’s handle looks like when you find the different handles. And then there’s the broom. Not exactly a transmog, but you can buy different looking brooms.
Well-voiced characters
There are so many characters in this game, and each one of them kind of stands out from the other. None of them looked too much like another person, and I just want to say all the voice-actors absolutely nailed it with whichever character they voiced.

Hogwarts Legacy Review
Hogwarts Legacy is here and I couldn’t be more excited. In fact, I was so excited for the game that I bought the deluxe version so I could have early access to it (as well as get those additional perks). Of course, it kind of backfired on me because the day I could actually start playing it is the day I had a bad migraine and was bed-ridden, but oh well.
Now, I’m not big into the Harry Potter world and don’t know a whole lot of the lore. I never read all the books, but I did watch all the movies, and even that was some time ago.
As for the game itself, when you hop in, you’re able to customize your character. There’s quite a bit to do as far as customization is concerned but it’s not terribly overwhelming. Not like…Cyberpunk 2077’s customization screen which had a ton of things if I remember correctly. I feel like they put just enough customization in here to feel satisfied with how my character turned out look-wise.
You’ll also get clothing items from chests and shopkeepers that you can customize your character with. Transmog, if you will.
Oh but the customization doesn’t end quite yet, because you eventually get a broom and can buy different ones that have their own style, not to mention their upgrades.
Let’s talk characters.
They’re all cool and the voice actors did an amazing job all around, but man…I can’t help missing the OGs, like Hagrid. Though there is a Professor Weasley. But I feel like by talking with some of the characters you get a feel for their personality regarding the Harry Potter universe. For instance, our headmaster is kind of an asshole and therefore must be the Professor Snape of this era.
We see more of his assistant than him though.
Now, Hogwarts in Harry Potter films is pretty impressive in size. And the devs didn’t slouch when creating Hogwarts in Hogwarts Legacy. It’s…fairly easy to get lost or wind up going around in a circle if you’re simply exploring and not relying on a waypoint to a specific location. Thus we can all be thankful that they’ve implemented fast travel!
And there’s quite a lot of locations you can open up for teleporting to.
I was a little worried about how the combat would go, because by having a set amount of spells it could become repetitive and boring.
But there are a lot of spells you can have in your arsenal–some more for battles while others stick to the adventure side. You can rearrange the spells you have on your actionbar and switch them around given certain situations. Not only that, but you can also learn the three unforgivable curses, which is amazing.
We don’t have to be the good witch/wizard.
We can be a jerk.
And that in itself is enough to make this game grand.
