Welcome to Hogsmeade is a quest within the game Hogwarts Legacy.

Welcome to Hogsmeade Guide

Welcome to Hogsmeade

This quest is located in The Library Annex.

You can find whichever fellow student you’ve chosen to go to Hogsmeade with in The Bell Tower.

Follow Natty/Sebastian to Hogsmeade

You’ll be following them for a while, but on your way, you’ll first stop at an area of a few Lacewing Flies bushes. You’ll be using them for spell ingredients later on so you might as well get them whenever you can, along with any other materials you come across outside of Hogwarts, such as Leaping Toadstool Caps and Moonstone.

There’s also a bunch of yellow trumpet flowers that make a ton of news. They remind me of the flowers in Alice in Wonderland…

You’ll also be meeting up with a Gladwin Moon who…doesn’t look too good at the moment due to a run-in with something that he doesn’t necessarily have a good time with. You’ll meet up with him again in another quest to learn Alohomora, but that’s neither here nor there at the moment.

Keep going until you’re in Hogsmeade and left to your own devices.

Visit Tomes and Scrolls

Tomes and Scrolls is located at the entrance to Hogsmeade.

In order to brew potions, you’ll be needing something to brew the potions in, am I right? Luckily you’ll get two such things–the both of them can be placed in a certain area you’ll come across at some point, but for now, you’ll need them for the potion brewing class.

This is also the guy you’ll be coming to in order to do a lot of other things in your free time.

For now, take the two free items.

Visit Ollivanders

You can find Ollivanders at the first intersection you come across.

This is quite the interesting building, because you’ll get to find the wand that belongs to you. Not only that, but you’ll also be able to customize it to however you want. Not everything is going to matter in the end–such as the size of the want or what it’s made out of, but there are some visual customizations to it.

Visit J. Pippin’s Potions

J. Pippin’s Potions are to the north, right of the bridge you’ll go across in order to get to The Magic Neep.

Depending on the difficulty the game is set on, and depending what levels enemies you’ll be going against soon, potions will help give you an edge in battle, whether it’s strengthening your offense or defense. Not to mention the healing potions.

If you ever need to make a potion, but don’t have the ingredients, Pippins usually will.

Take the two free potions.

Visit The Magic Neep

The Magic Neep can be found across the bridge to the northwest–or over any bridge to the other side, you just might have to run a bit longer to get to it.

It’s at this place that you’ll be coming to to buy seeds to grow as ingredients for specific things–specifically you’ll be wanting Mallowsweet Leaves for future areas that’ll grant you more space for equipment (which you’ll definitely need if you’re an explorer).

You don’t have to keep buying seeds to keep growing plants though. Once you’ve bought the seeds, you have them forever.

And for now, we’re just getting Dittany Seed.

Meet Natty/Sebastian at the town circle

Head into the center of everything and speak with your co-student to initiate a cutscene, and a battle.

Before the troll battle starts off, you’re given a prompt right away to dodge out of the way. Dodge is another move you’ll be using a lot of in case you can’t bother with a Protego. Which means whenever you see a red symbol above your head, you’ll need to dodge to the left or right. You don’t normally want to dodge forward or back in case you’re still in the line of fire, which you might be in this fight’s case.

During the battle, there will also be a prompt for grabbing items and tossing them at your opponent. This will do higher damage than your basic attacks, of course, but you’ll also need something to throw nearby in order to use it.

At the end of the battle, a third prompt will show up for using ancient magic which will wipe the enemy out of existence.

Repair the damage (0/7)

There are areas that have been damaged that you’ll be needing to use the spell Reparo on. Each of these locations are marked in the screenshots, but even if you can’t find an area, know that it has a white outline wherever the rubble is.

Speak to the Shopkeeper

Welcome to Hogsmeade

Augustus Hill is who you’ll be speaking with and he speacializes in clothing. So if you’re looking for an upgrade on a piece of equipment, he might have something better for you, but not only that, transmog is a huge deal in Hogwarts Legacy. If there’s something that you think looks cool, you can just buy it for transmog purposes.

For now, buy the Traditional School Robe.

Once you buy it, as the prompt suggests, you’ll want to go into your Equipment tab and choose to wear the better robe.

Follow Natty/Sebastian to the Three Broomsticks

Follow your fellow student a short way for a cutscene.

Talk to Natty/Sebastian outside the Three Broomsticks

As it says, just head out and have a chat.

Once the chat is over, head into the Hogwarts map and fast travel to your common room.
