This quest can be found in The Astronomy Wing.
Return to Professor Fig’s classroom
Fast travel to Professor Fig’s Classroom then head on in to his back office for a conversation.
Since you’ve learned the spell Incendio, you’re now better prepared to face whatever it might be that’s in the restricted section of the library.
Unfortunately, the headmaster comes in and pulls Professor Fig away on some other random errand and won’t take no for an answer, because Fig has inconvenienced him with us showing up late to the sorting hat ceremony.
Yeah, bit of an asshole, that one.
We’re ready to go right now, even without Fig, so it’s time to have a chat with the one guy that might be able to help us.
Talk to Sebastian
Fast travel to Defence Against the Dark Arts Tower.
Sebastian is located by the painting of the woman who appears to enjoy being bathed in fire.
You can choose to tell him more about what happened at Hogsmeade or not. Even if you do tell him it’s all pretty convoluted and doesn’t make sense to someone on the outside. We’re terrible at explaining our predicament in layman’s terms.
No worries though, Sebastian will help you get into the Restricted section, no problem.
Meet Sebastian in the Central Hall at night
In fact, you’ll automatically get teleported into the appropriate area.
Approach Sebastian down the steps and he’ll end up teaching you Disillusionment, which you’ll be needing in order to open all those chests with the eyes on them.
Sneak into the Library
Add Disillusionment to your spell bar and cast it before heading down the steps. You’ll get a prompt that teaches you about being caught in areas you’re not supposed to be in as part of a quest will make you fail that quest. While you can get by the one prefect here, when you get to the bottom of the stairs, you might need to distract one of the students so they don’t face you.
Otherwise, just walk through the library’s door when the one student walks to the right and enter the next door.
Talk to Sebastian
Turns out the librarian is there, so turn to the left where Sebastian urges you for a conversation.
You’ll need to grab the librarian’s key that’s in her desk because the lock to the Restricted Section can no longer be opened via Alohomora. Not to mention, you don’t even have that spell yet.
Sebastian will provide a distraction for you.
Get the key from the librarian’s desk
You’ll need to wait for Sebastian’s distraction before you make a move toward the librarian’s desk. Note that she does turn toward you and walks ahead, so if you’re crouched in the open, there’s a chance she’ll take notice. Once she’s walked to the left, head to her desk for the key.
Find the book
Walk toward the right side of the room, but pay attention to where the librarian is, in case she notices you. Near where Sebastian is is the locked door to the Restricted Section. Head inside and you might notice a book on a desk–he’ll tell you to ignore it as it only looks important.
Make your way downstairs where a prompt comes up for distracting people away from your position.
There are two ghosts. The first one you can cast toward the statue at the far end and make your way around to the next area without being noticed. In the next area is another ghost–you can hit the wall on the right side to make her move away from the doorway you need to go down into.
You’re in the clear once you’re away from the ghosts, so proceed as normal until you come across a closed door.
Go through until you see the next area blocked off. Approach for a cutscene with Peeves.
Search for the secret hidden in the Restricted Section
Reparo the armor and continue forward, going down a winding staircase until you’re in a room with what looks like a portal. There will be some ancient magic to investigate before you can go through the portal. Travel down the winding staircase until you come across another door to the Athenaeum.
Discover the secret of the Antechamber
Approach the first door and wand attack the rune above the door.
Once through, you’ll be attacking a series of four enemies–two the first time, two the next time. Once the statues are defeated, you’ll get a prompt above filling your ancient magic meter and using your super power to demolish your foes basically.
The next area will have another two enemies to defeat. These are pretty simple, because you might be lucky enough to push them over the edge of the platform which will instantly kill them.
There’s a chest on the left side. Approach the rectangular overhang for a path to appear toward it.
Attack the rune to proceed, but be quick and jump toward the end, as the floor will start to disappear.
There are no enemies in the next room, but there is a chest you can get.
Attack the rune above the door. To the right, a platform should’ve appeared that you can jump on. A path will rise before you halfway to the open doorway. Once the path stops, attack the rune above the door for the rest of the path to come before you.
Once you’ve got the chest, go back to the main platform and attack the rune again. Cross halfway, attack rune again, and progress toward to a short hall with two chests on either side of you.
Eight enemies await you.
In the next area, approach the book for a cutscene of another person admitted into Hogwarts as a fifth year, and then watch as Sebastian gets busted and doesn’t turn you in as his accomplice.
