Cast the Vortex spell
Your staff has been upgraded with a new spell and now it’s time to use it!
There are areas, especially in the upper portion of town where there are shadows lingering in areas, making you incapable of progressing forward in the vicinity. Get near these shadows and use the staff’s ability in order to clear at least one of them to complete the quest.
Return to Alaric for rewards!
Once you’ve cleared at least one shadowed area, head back to Alaric.
