Hermitage is a quest within the game Dredge.
Met a Hermit living up against the rocks at Gale Cliffs. Everything around him was crumbling down.
He fell out with his brother, a Whaler at Ingfell, some years ago. If I can repair their relationship, he should be able to move back.
Must find the old Family Crest first. Apparently some creature took it into the cliffs?
Hermitage Guide
Find the Family Crest in Gale Cliffs
Find the Hermit’s Family Crest.
In order to obtain this quest, you’ll need to dock at the Ruins at Gale Cliffs.
This quest is more annoying than Best Before, because you’ll actually need to go into the rocky section of Gale Cliffs, where the monster is lurking. Luckily, you should be able to take at least one hit from it before it swims away. Do note that it will circle around at some point to threaten you again, so I wouldn’t linger too long.
You can go around the backside of the cliffs instead of through, because there are a lot of blocked areas. In the screenshot, you can cut through just south where the ship is to get the goods easier.
The Family Crest requires a square of four slots.
Return to the Hermit with your find.
Return Family Crest
Return the Family Crest to the old Whaler at Ingfell.
Travel to the next closest town of Ingfell and speak with the Retired Whaler to show him the Family Crest.
Detonate the explosives
I need to detonate some explosives that have been placed on debris somewhere in Gale Cliffs.
You can enter the inner section of the cliffs in the main portion between the towns, either right side or left side. Really, the creature will probably ram you no matter which way you decide, just pay close attention to where the detonation point is on the map, whichever opening you decide to go through.
Return to Ingfell Whaler
I should return to Ingfell and tell the Whaler.
Just as it says.
Return to Hermit
The Hermit’s brother will take him back in. I should let him know.
Back and forth, but before you head over there, make sure you have space for him in your inventory.
Take Hermit to Ingfell
The Hermit climbed aboard — I just need to take him to Ingfell.
He takes up a bit of space, honestly, but it’s all good. Just transport him and that’ll be that. You can now purchase explosives from the Whaling Yards.
