Inn’s Owner Notice

As announced at the last town hall meeting, I hereby close the King’s Arms tavern, leaving the key to the selectmen. There shall be no ale sold nor drunk until the curse is lifted and I return. The store-rooms are locked, and so are the bedrooms.

So the inn’s owner is now gone, and they’ve basically locked everything up so nobody can use it.

I understand locking up the alcohol, because in desperate times, people are going to drink if nothing else. Although I don’t quite understand why they’d lock up the bedrooms. Unless they didn’t want someone who might be ill to use them and infect the area with their sickness?

Like if outsiders were to visit, they’d rather them go elsewhere than their inn?

It’s a bit possessive of them, but I can understand it.
