Abandoned Letter

My dear Evelynne,

As you know, Alexander and I must go home. The Newsmiths’ plan seemed the right one, but now God calls our hearts back to New Eden. The horses and their pastures are gone, but the house yet stands. We shall rebuild, or we shall die there, where we belong, at home.

I write now for I must thank you for your kindness and your unwavering encouragement, especially when I thought my rotten lungs would be the death of me.

Was this the owner of the abandoned stables back in New Eden Town then? She must’ve lived here for a little bit and then left, and then the tree fell on the house? I can’t imagine her not mentioning the tree on the house otherwise, unless it just didn’t bother her and didn’t mess with the insulation of the home.

Apparently she’d been sick at some point, but was that before or after they left for here?

I think maybe her being so sick that she thought she’d die made her change her mind about being here and wanting to go back to her real home. Nobody wants to die in an unfamiliar place, after all.
