A Note, Damp and Bloody is a letter found within the game Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden.
A Note, Damp and Bloody
Perhaps these words will be lost in time, but I must write them.
The date? I cannot say. I know it is the month of June in the year 1695.
I thought we would be safer in Providence. I thought we would finally see the children again, and the golden wheat fields would ring with their laughter.
Their mother now lies dead, and I shall join her soon.
Something insidious walks the roads. Terrible spirits took us.
New Eden is cursed. You who reads this now, I tell you: run.
We might’ve gotten the impression that A Letter, Old and Damp would be something bad to read, but the fact that this one is bloody and laying next to a dead body really confirms that it’s not going to be good.
Not to mention it’s been dropped in a cave that seems to be home to several Wanderers.
I’m wondering if these are the people who’d received the old and damp letter and were on their way to Providence, but were ambushed on the way? But the person who writes it says the childrens’ mother lies dead–does that make this person not the father, then? Was he serving as an escort to get them safely away?
And how did the sprits take them? I would think they’d attack and kill.
Did the spirits kill them and turn them into the Wanderers that were in the cave?
