Combat is clunky

Which is a little weird for a combat-driven game, don’t you think? Then again, it was released in 2009, so let’s just say it didn’t age well in this regard.

I can honestly only compare this to Diablo 3, because that’s the only other game like this I’ve played enough to clearly remember, and I’ve come across just a few annoying things when it came to combat.

First, stairs are your nemesis. You won’t be able to hit most enemies on a staircase.

Second, I played as a mage and the character sometimes doesn’t move when you use the laser beam attack. Your character is supposed to stay still, but you should be able to rotate them wherever you want, and that just wasn’t the case as far as this attack goes.

Third, I don’t like how when you enter an area, monsters could be right there waiting for you. Normally there’s a certain gap to where they show up. Consider this a personal gripe.

Your pet is obnoxious

Just enjoying some fishing without a pet around

Oh my lord, I have the lynx and it just doesn’t stop. It’s so bad when you’re standing around and fishing. I wish it would let me have some peace and only make noise when in combat mode.

No quest markers

Did Diablo 3 spoil me? Did they think everyone would just automatically know where to go? Even after taking a break?

When you go into your quest log, they don’t specifically say where you need to go to complete it. Instead, it’ll drop something of a keyword and you’ll just have to remember what place that keyword pertains to. Not even a map will help you with this one.

Voice acting

If there’s ever going to be a pro for this game, for me, it would definitely be the amount of voice acting in it. Sure, not all the lines are voiced, but that’s okay, because the ones that are, are well done and appreciated.
