The Sons of Ragnar Guide
Find and speak to Sigurd
You’re going to be traveling quite the distance to Repton in order to meet Sigurd and the others, but that’s okay, because there are also other places you can hit up if you’d like to, in order to make exploring a bit easier.
Such as the fast travel locations.
On the map itself you can probably see about four in your path to get to Repton, and once close enough, another one will be available, and then another in Repton itself, of course.
I recommend getting a few, at least. That way you can kind of bounce around different locations for easier traveling.
Once you get to Repton, send out Synin for the destination in question.
Walk close enough to a building’s entrance and a cutscene with Ivarr will start.
Follow Ivarr
Whew, he’s a doozy, isn’t he?
All you have to do in this part is follow him to where the others are in the tent for a cutscene. The duration of the walk, the both of you will talk and you’ll get to know his personality a bit more–as if you couldn’t tell what it might be like already.
Speak with Ubba
Find some of the goodies stashed around the area if you like before heading over to where Ubba is. Don’t worry if you’re afraid of initiating the quest by getting too close, if you are exploring. You have to speak with him to progress things.
No, choices don’t matter.
Travel to Tamworth
Whelp, Eivor obviously don’t like where things are headed, and neither does Ubba, but apparently Ivarr doesn’t give a shit. Who would’ve figured that?

You know who else doesn’t give a shit? This poo pillow doesn’t!
I actually use this in the chair that I sit in for gaming. My parents got it for me one year for either my birthday or Christmas. Isn’t that funny? I absolutely love it. I took a picture of it propped up in my chair and put it on Facebook with the status, “My chair is so crappy.”
I couldn’t stop laughing. I’m dumb.
Hop on the horse just up ahead (or call your own, whichever you prefer), and travel with the group, listening to what they have to say. Eventually, you’ll come up to the castle front and a cutscene will start up.
I’m reminded of Monty Python and The Holy Grail watching it, and I expect French insults to fly. Alas, it doesn’t happen.
Speak with the captain
You’ll find the camp nearby and the captain is a woman standing outside of a tent. There’s mention of a battering ram, too. Nice!
Ready or not…you’ll need to be ready eventually.
Breach the gates
Move up ahead to the battering ram everyone is holding and grab ahold of them with it. Basically you’ll be doing the following:
- Move backwards until the Charge lights up in yellow, then hold down the button
- Brace when a red circle surrounds you, as arrows are incoming
I was able to continuously do this throughout the rest of the barricades, but I was very low in health, so watch yourself. You can always leave the battering ram and take out some enemies, grab some berries from nearby plants to heal, and get back to breaking down the barricades.
Don’t forget if your health is low you can use your extra ration supply you have on hand.
Defeat King Burgred’s elites
Go up and around and there are two of them at the top guarding a building.
Once you defeat the both of them, you’ll have won the overall battle.
Enter King Burgred’s keep
Of course this dude’s in denial and doesn’t want the big bad wolves (or ravens, in this case) to come busting in. Too bad for him we’re going to do it anyway.
Help force the door open.
Search the keep for hints of the king’s whereabouts
Looks like someone slipped through our fingers while we weren’t looking, and now we have to find clues on his whereabouts.
You don’t have to bother looking around at everything, and I’m not sure if every thing you have the option of choosing has some kind of impact that you can show someone, but I typically go to the scroll on the desk in the same room as a Treasure.
You can then show it to Ivarr, who’s…pretending to be asleep.
