Prologue to Re:Turn – One Way Trip Guide
Not only does the opening part of the Prologue of Re:Turn remind me of Are You Afraid of the Dark, due to them being around a campfire at night and one telling a scary story to the others, but it also takes me back to a horror novel I read way back when called Trapped by J.A. Konrath.

Let me be the first to say, if you think Stephen King is top of the list when it comes to horror writing, he doesn’t even come close. When I read Trapped, I got chills and goosebumps during certain scenes, and I was on the edge of my seat for a lot of it.
Not everything is as it seems in this book, and if you like horror that has no bounds, it’s worth the read.
Find firewood
First off, you’ll be needing your flashlight. If you try to go to the left, Kanae will remind you of it. So head toward your tent (the one on the left) and interact with it to grab both the flashlight and notebook.
Head left.
You’ll notice the conveniently placed pile of wood right before you. Don’t worry, it’s not a trap, but you can’t use it, as it’s too wet, so keep moving.
The second set of wood you find is what you need. Take the dry wood and head back to the tents.
As you go, an envelope with a lovely design will fall in front of you. It’s got a haiku in it, and it’s probably Sen’s, so we’re going to go ahead and put it back in his backpack without another word on it.
Once at the campfire, throw the dry wood onto it.
Come on Baby Light My Fire
Re-lit the campfire.
Now approach the boys’ tent and place the envelope into Sen’s backpack.
An argument ensues.
Find your friends
Nothing like waking up from a realistic nightmare and realizing all your friends are missing, right? I don’t know about you, but I’d probably stay in the tent and never go back to sleep.
Go to the left and you’ll see a grave marker that wasn’t there before with the word “Mommy” engraved on it.
Continue left and interact with the lake for a kukri. Now when you go to the right of the campsite, you can chop away the overgrowth that is blocking your path. In the end, the blade shatters. (Those are some strong ass weeds.)

What’s nice about this kukri is that it also comes with a sheath, but my main attraction for this blade is how it looks. And it looks freaking amazing.
I’m not someone who buys weapons of any kind or things that are hazardous to my health if I play with them, but if I collected on looks alone, this would be on display somewhere for sure, or in storage, because I’m a hoarder.
After seeing a mysterious figure, continue the same way and find yourself facing an old train.
Despite your better judgment, you board it, initiating Chapter One – All Aboard!
All Aboard!
