I’ve got a cat. Seeing as I have a cat, I sometimes feel the need to play a cat game. And since I’ve already played Stray, this was the next best thing I aimed for, since I was going on a demo streak. It certainly puts things into perspective as a cat.
Pros:
- Local animal side quests
- Adorable headwear
Cons:
- Not enough trash cans
- Can’t access crawl spaces with hats on
I think what makes this game so good (aside from the fact that you’re a cute kitty) is the fact that you can wear hats that make you even more adorable than before. The downside with these hats, I’ve found out, that if you want to crawl through a small space, they impede you. I hope that’s an oversight, as it is slightly annoying when you need to go to another location and you have to take off the hat.
Maybe certain ones are just too tall and others are fine? If that’s the case, it’s a bit unfair.
The side quests are fun, because one involves pouncing on unsuspecting birds, and you just know cats are out there doing that in their spare time (or at least attempting to). And if I remember correctly, attempting to clean up the trash in town will net you in shinies, but as far as the demo went, there either weren’t enough shinies that I could find to progress things a bit further, or there were way too few trash cans.
Seriously.
We’re in a crowded town and there’s only, like, one trash can in a singular parking lot? I don’t think so.
What I found most odd were areas that you could interact with that could teleport you out of the game. Literally exit the game if you requested it. But there’s a menu option in the start screen for exit game.
Are they going to change to fast travel spots in the full game, because otherwise that makes no sense. I’m thinking they might though.
I’m hoping they might.
