Well the game certainly isn’t sticking to the movie, but everything’s a little different when you judge them side-by-side. Instead of going the screaming plant route, they went with the deadly vines instead.
One of them happens to steal her wand, while another grabs our friend.

I get that we’re the infamous Harry Potter here, but it’s year 1. How the hell can a teacher just stand there and do nothing while your friend is stuck in the vines, when she knows the most about plant life? She might as well just be eating an apple while watching you stress out over Ron.
I mean, she lost her wand, but still. Good grief.
(By the way, if you hit her with a spell, she’ll retaliate with a spell of her own, so apparently she didn’t actually lose her wand.)
WL the cart in the left corner, then do it again in order to repair it so you can hop in for a ride. You’ll then destroy the blockade keeping you from Ron.
Use LS to kill the Devil’s Snare trapping Ron.
You’ve upgraded your Lumos spell to Lumos Solem now.
