While the gang of three is climbing the steps (back to their dorm, I’m assuming), they see Professor Quirrell up ahead carrying…a bunch of bones?
That’s what it looks like, at least. It’s actually not though.
Face of the Enemy Guide
Really, all you have to do is go up the first set of stairs, have Harrywave at the portrait of the red wizard in order to change the step layout, and then run up and into the doorway of the suspicious professor.
After sneaking into the area Quirrell wandered into, you’ll notice your favorite three-headed dog…and no, it’s not Cerberus. He’s also not as cute as a LEGO as he is in the film, either, but as Quirrell come up from the trap door, he notices you.
Being the jerk that he is, he uses his wand to break the harp that had put Fluffy to sleep.
After slamming the trap door shut, Fluffy then wakes up and Ron has a brilliant idea of pulling a trumpet (?) out of nowhere and playing Hogwart’s theme terribly. The dog was not impressed, Hermione was not impressed, and neither was I.
Wand the portrait of the bathing wizard so they’ll throw a rubber ducky at you. Wand it as well until it becomes super-sized, then WL it over to Fluffy.
Next, WL the parts to the harp so Fluffy will return to sleep.
Hop into the trap door.
LS the vines–specifically the one that’s ensnared Ron–then hop down the hole to the right.
Use LS on the vines blocking your way and the grabby ones against the wall. Once in the circular area, there’s a golden statue of a wizard against the wall. WL the barrel beside it to cover his head in order for him to drop a broom.
Jump on the broom and attack the giant key so several of the flying keys start dropping dead. Attack it several times until the key lays on the ground.
Jump off the broom, then WL the key to open the doorway and head in.
Wand each of the pawns–one of them will run to the tower (rook?). Hop on the horse as Harry in order to ride it. Hop on the rook (?) next in order to ride it as well. After that, the bishop should be able to take out one of the opposing pieces.
WL the fallen pawn, and then WL another to create a queen.
Wand the queen for her to plow through the opposing force and create a checkmate!
Everyone but Ron runs to the next room. Mainly because he’s a klutz and trips.
The mirror shows Harry pointing at his pocket where the Philosopher’s Stone that Quirrell has been trying to find is hiding. His head twists around and reveals an ugly angry face that you’ll have to attack.
Approach the enemy and the ground will break.
Basically, for this fight, just keep back and run back and forth to avoid the fireballs. When he throws a green skull, WL that back to him. Once dazed, jump over the cracks and touch him to burn him.
Do this three different times.
Each time, the ground will break even more, so be mindful how you jump on the floor that remains by the last phase.
Once you defeat him, you’ll yank both his arms off until he basically becomes Monty Python’s Black Knight, while Harry’s parents cheer for him in the mirror. Harry passes out, Voldemort can’t grab the stone, and there you go!
A fine first year.
Where is the Student in Peril?
In the flying keys phase, there’s a ledge on the upper right with a green vine. Hop off your broom when you get to the landing and LS the vines in order to free the student.
