This quest can be found in The Astronomy Wing after completing The Locket’s Secret.

Report to Professor Hecat

Fast travel to Defence Against the Dark Arts Classroom and speak to Professor Hecat within.

She’ll mention the newest spell she’s going to teach you will be Incendio–a spell that will help you clear out upcoming areas with spiderwebs. Apologies to all you who suffer from arachnophobia.

You’re not going to learn the spell right off the bat though. You’ll need to prove yourself capable of using the spell first, through two different feats of “strength” so to speak.

Win two rounds of Crossed Wands (1/2)

Lo and behold the teachers really do know about this underground wand-fighting, and Professor Hecat needs you to prove yourself by completing a second round of wand combat with your fellow students. You’ve already done it once, what’s one more time, right?

Complete a round of spell combination practice with Lucan Brattleby

This objective is easier than the former because the dummy won’t fight against you, and it won’t take you too long to be defeated, if you don’t fully grasp the spell combinations.
