How to Cast Lumos in Hogwarts Legacy
Lumos is a spell within the game Hogwarts Legacy. You will need to follow the pattern of the spell and press the appropriate buttons as you pass over them in order to cast it properly.

How to cast Lumos
In order to get Lumos as a spell, you’ll have to progress to a specific point in the quest The Path to Hogwarts, in which Professor Fig will teach you how to cast it.
It really is kind of a swish-and-flick and has one of the easiest spell-crafting paths to follow.
When the visual for learning the Lumos spell appears, there are two things you need to know. First, you have to press the appropriate buttons when the arrow moves over them in the pattern. Second, you need to control the direction of the arrow so it follows the path.
If you don’t have the arrow following the path, it’s not going to progress toward the end and you’ll fail. Same goes with not pressing the correct keybinds at the proper moments.
As far as my Xbox controls go, I’d have to press A three times.
The first one will start the arrow moving. The other two will keep it moving to the end of the spell’s pattern.
After you’ve learned the spell, the lit wand icon appears at the top of a diamond-shaped action bar on the bottom right of the screen. The center portion of the action bar tells you which modifier you need to press before you can cast a spell.
In my case, it would be to hold Right Trigger and press Y.
The Right Trigger must be held down in order to cast Lumos. This is also vital to know in combat as you’ll be pressing Y to defend against attacks. If you try to defend against an attack with Y and have the modifier held, you’re going to cast Lumos as well as get hit by the enemy.
Sorry, but that little light at the end of your wand isn’t going to blind them before they smack you.
