Nowhere to put excess items
It’s so annoying that these shopkeepers are having us buy bulk items that don’t even fill up the shelves.
There are shelves that hold six items, and we get five items in a bundle, so you’re either going to have that one space unclaimed, or buy more, and have an overstock crate just sitting wherever because there’s nowhere to put them.
You can’t even get another shelf, since it still won’t be full, unless you have five shelves for that one item. Then at least you won’t have any crates sitting around.
But yeah.
When I mass-bought items, there’d be boxes thrown about all willy-nilly, and it was a mess. I’m kind of surprised the thieves didn’t just go for the crates laying on the ground.
Thieves are too quick
By the time you realize someone is thieving something, they’re basically out the door and running at 200% speed, which is crazy.
When I realized how fast they were, I just let them go. There was no way I’d be able to catch them while I was in the middle of checking someone out, and it’s really hard to catch someone unless you’re already looking at them or near the door.
It also takes a moment to pull your gun out.
Basically, you want to have your gun drawn and on a customer while they’re looking at the goods until you know they won’t steal, because when they do steal, they take everything that’s on display of that specific item, which is a big budget hit if they take every item.
Plus, you lose a lot of renown when they escape.

Renown system
I do really like that we’ve got a renown system going on.
At the top of the screen there’s a bar and to the left is the kind of renown that you don’t want and to the right is the positive renown. Every positive sale will net you renown, whereas if you make customers wait too long, allow a thief to get away, overprice products, or shoot a pedestrian, you’re going to be losing renown.
Which makes me think it’s a lot easier to lose renown in this game than it is to gain it, so they could consider throwing us a bone over here and making it a little more equalized.
Especially if an escaped roadrunner thief will cost you 50+ renown.
Variety of furniture
I like how you have a lot of furniture to work with when the full release happens. You can see what you’ll be working with by going into the furniture building and checking out the shelves, tables, and crates and such. Within the demo, however, you’ll only be able to purchase a select few, and they restrict you on a certain amount of them.
Perhaps one of the downsides of this is the fact that certain items can only be displayed on specific furniture types, and it’s not exactly clear what items can go on what.
Yeah, when you hover over furniture in your store, it’ll show crate icons and checkmarks, but that doesn’t exactly help us out item-wise.
