Hello everyone and welcome to a pros and
0:03
cons of the video game Greedfall 2: The
0:06
Dying World on Not Now Mom, I'm Gaming.
0:10
These are short videos featuring all my
0:11
little nitpicks and pleasantries with
0:13
having played the game while sustaining
0:15
a bare minimum of spoilers. Let the
0:18
reviewing begin.
0:20
Pros: Tear for D language.
0:31
You're either going to like listening to
0:33
the characters speak this language or
0:34
you're not. I personally really enjoy
0:37
listening to it. Something about the
0:39
dialect was enjoyable to listen to, but
0:41
I do understand why people wouldn't like
0:42
to listen to speak people speak it.
0:45
First off, it's not our language, so we
0:47
had to read the subtitles to even
0:48
understand what they're saying. Second,
0:51
they do tend to talk a bit slower with
0:53
this language. So, you might have read
0:54
what they said before they're done
0:56
speaking, and that sometimes aggravates
0:58
people to a certain extent. Third, some
1:01
people say they lack emotion. It sounds
1:02
like they're just reading from a script.
1:05
I mean, not everyone has a dialect that
1:07
really conveys emotions. I'm going to
1:10
say, sure, there's always some kind of
1:12
inflection, and there is emotion to some
1:14
of the characters who speak this
1:15
language, but for the most part, their
1:17
speech can be a bit bland.
1:20
Cons: Clunky combat.
1:24
I don't know why they decided to not
1:26
stick with the combat that was in the
1:27
first Greedful game. I honestly just
1:29
wanted to try something new, but this
1:31
real-time tactical combat sucks. I hate
1:34
it. I don't have anything against
1:36
tactical combat games because I really
1:38
like Boulder Gates 3's combat. It's
1:42
turn-based, though. And in this game,
1:44
that's not the case. Depending on your
1:46
gameplay settings, you can pause the
1:47
battle and go through each character to
1:49
tell them what to do and switch
1:50
characters in real time when you need
1:52
to, but it's so bad.
1:56
Long loading times, specifically for
1:59
quick loads. Scene transitions between
2:01
fast travel are super fast. When it
2:04
comes to quick load and quick saves,
2:05
you're going to be sitting on a loading
2:07
screen every single time. I don't think
2:09
that makes them quick loads at that
2:10
point, does it? Enemies next to fast
2:14
travel point.
2:16
Whose bright idea was it to place a fast
2:18
travel point right next to where enemies
2:20
are going to spawn? That's absolutely
2:23
crazy and dumb on so many levels,
2:25
especially when you're not expecting it.
2:27
And why would you? I had my characters
2:30
fast travel to a certain point and one
2:31
of them suddenly died for no reason
2:34
before we were actually attacked.
2:37
DNF.
2:39
For those that don't know, DNF stands
2:41
for did not finish. Let me start by
2:44
saying I love the first game, and I did
2:46
really enjoy what I played at this game,
2:48
despite its flaws. However, not too far
2:51
into the game, after arriving at the
2:52
home of the knots, I came across a
2:54
combat sequence with several enemies
2:56
that I kept dying to. I tried more than
2:59
10 times to defeat these enemies, and I
3:01
just couldn't. They'd overpower me every
3:03
time. I think this is a testament to how
3:06
bad the combat is. Everyone went and
3:09
started attacking different enemies,
3:10
therefore becoming spread out. Several
3:13
enemies targeted me. Jumping back did
3:15
not decrease my threat to them. Probably
3:17
because nobody initiated combat with
3:19
them, and they just decide that was it.
3:22
When I had a character mine get me up
3:23
from death, I was immediately targeted
3:25
and killed almost instantly. On my
3:28
second toolbar, I have healing spells
3:29
used for my second weapon. For some
3:32
reason, my second toolbar does not have
3:34
an auto attack button, and so my
3:36
character stood there doing nothing, and
3:38
I couldn't figure out how to even add
3:39
the auto attack function since it's not
3:41
an ability menu. Since I couldn't really
3:44
access my healing spells, that meant I
3:46
didn't have a healer in my party.
3:48
The only thing that I can think at this
3:50
point is you want your generic combat
3:52
team, a tank, a healer, and your DPS. I
3:56
don't think I had a tank in my party and
3:58
the only healer had maybe one healing
4:00
spell on her. So, I basically screwed
4:03
myself for this fight and it initiates
4:05
automatically.
4:07
So, for now, yeah, I DNFed. Maybe I'll
4:11
come back to it at a later date, but for
4:13
now, it is what it is. And because of
4:15
this, I had to get the game a one star.
4:18
And that's the end of a pros and cons
4:20
review of Greedful 2: The Dying World.
4:22
Thanks for watching, everyone. And don't
4:24
get in too much trouble when you say,
4:26
"Not now, Mom. I am gaming.
