Ripoff of A Game About Digging A Hole

After playing so many games, you’re going to start seeing similarities in some of them to other games you’ve played, and that’s fine. Let’s pay a little homage to the games we’ve loved in the past and give people that hint of nostalgia.

But this?

Oh, this is a straight-up knock-off of another digging sim.

It’s got the exact same things going for it with two differences.

One is that you’ve got a bed and you can use it to save, which I can’t recall being in the other game since it was based out of our garage. Two, you’re digging through snow instead of the backyard of a home you recently bought.

You’ve still got a jetpack, you can still dig up rocks at the top level, you still sell stones to recharge your battery and buy upgrades.

I mean really, can we get some creativity up in here? I don’t care if the main difference is you’re finding trading card games instead of some treasure–it’s still literally the exact same game painted with different colors.

Shovel couldn’t shovel

Arctic Digger TCG Collection

I was willing to give the game a short try, but the top layer of snow must’ve turned to ice, because my shovel did not want to dig every time I mouse-clicked. Instead, it dug whenever it wanted to.

Not a great start to a game where you’re supposed to dig.
