Memories Awoken is a mission in An Old Enemy and a New Ally you’ll get in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey within the zone of Phokis and several others.

Memories Awoken Guide

Talk to Herodotos at Thermopylai

We’re officially heading out of Phokis territory and heading into Malis.

Personally I like to finish up with one area before going to another, but it’s not like you can’t finish anything later, or you won’t be going back to Phokis. So we’re going to pretend you just want to follow the questline here. Besides, we’ll be traveling again after this part anyway.

How do you get to Herodotos?

You’ve got two choices:

  1. Climb over the cliff to get to the other side.
  2. Head into and out of the Cave of Kratos.

The first one is simplistic, of course.

If you choose to go through the Cave of Kratos, know that you won’t be able to turn around and go back out the way you came after a certain point. You slide down a slanted area and fall down into water. Once you’re inside the main area, there’s an area to the left and right.

To leave, you’ll need to take the left path. You’ll come out standing on the edge of a cliff.

Herodotos is up ahead, next to the Lion of Leonidas (I know, sounds like a disease). Speak with him for a cutscene.

Choices don’t matter here.

Find and Enter the mysterious structure

The place in question is on the small island of Andros and it’s a good ways away. Which means you’ll surely run into some pirate ships, so prepare yourself.

Aside from that, all I can tell you is I traveled between the continents of where I started and Euboea. This is so I could dock at certain locations and hit up some fast travel to help with synchronizations.

After you approach the west end of the island, there’s a docking location for your ship. Once that’s done, send Ikaros out to find the place in question, which is a massive door.

Approach it and interact for a cutscene.

Explore the cave

Memories Awoken

You’re going to run all the way to the center (or dead end) of the cave where there’s a structure with a glowing spear. Interact with it and you’re taken back to reality with our two lovely ladies.

It doesn’t matter if you want to go back in or take a break–you’re taking a break no matter what. You might as well take advantage and scout the area out, interacting with everything you can. Come on, be an explorer of your own workplace. There are even emails and audio tracks to read and listen to.

Once done roaming around, head back into the world of Odyssey and leave the cave.

You get a run-in with your sibling and have a nice (or terrible) chat. Choices do matter here, but not a whole helluvalot. Instead, it changes future interactions, whether it’s going to be more difficult or easier to prove to your sibling the Cult is using them.

It’s something worth thinking about.

Pro choices:

  1. I can explain everything.
    • Gods don’t bow to the Cult.
      • She’s still our mother.
        • I’ve never found Nikolaos.
          • It’s not weakness.
            • I’m going.

Talk to Herodotos

Return to your ship and speak with Herodotos about the whole thing.
