Durotar is a horde zone meant for players level 1-30, founded in Classic World of Warcraft. It caters to both trolls and orcs and houses the main horde capital Orgrimmar.
Everything you find below is up to date for patch 9.1.
Reputations:
- Bilgewater Cartel
- Darkspear Trolls

Peregrine over on Redbubble has made a gorgeous Wolpertinger artwork that can be placed on a variety of objects or just bought as a print for decor. I actually really enjoy the vibrant colors they went for, and the gradient touch that makes doing the highlights and shading a bit easier.
An elegant mismatch of a creature.
Chests
Below are the types of treasure chests that I’ve found in Durotar. You won’t be able to find a chest in every single location they appear in, and they are on a timer if someone happens to take the specific chests in the zone before you.
Most of the chests are in the open world, but there’s some in small huts, and within the Tiragarde Keep.
Herbalism
This route nets a lot of all three starter herbs. It’s horde territory, so you’ll fly over horde locations. Just be aware of that if you’re alliance.
- Earthroot – 126
- Peacebloom – 145
- Silverleaf – 131
Fishing
I didn’t create a route for this zone, because there are no pools of fish. Instead, I focused on specific locations and gathered the data.
Mining
While the Herbalism route may go over a Horde area, this route nets a lot of ore without alliance having to worry about getting too close to an opposing faction’s flight master. It also crosses paths with a few rares, so keep your eyes open.
- Copper Ore – 383
- Rough Stone – 309
Skinning
I had a full route composed of beasts to skin that enveloped the entire zone, but I cut it down to two places, because going back and forth between them is a lot better than roaming the lands, going from one creature to another.
Class: Demon Hunter
Timed: 10:00
- Light Leather – 66
- Ruined Leather Scraps – 51
- Light Hide – 2
Rares
Links regarding the types of beasts you can tame will take you to the Petopia page regarding their species. Petopia gives you a whole lot of information revolving around hunter pets, so if you’re a hunter, go check the site out.
Reagents - Cloth
This cloth farming section goes through the specific areas where you can kill enemies that drop cloth. Certain areas are good for simply running around and constantly killing mobs for loot, (such as the caves), but in this route, I only did an in-and-out of the two caves. Otherwise, I kill the mobs in a general area and move on.
Class: Druid
Timed: N/A — Data is based on a single loop of the full route
- Linen Cloth – 91
Reagents - Meat
You’ll be going into underwater sections to farm certain meat–like in order to kill the crawlers as well as the crocs. Those are really the only annoying places. Otherwise, just kill the beasts for the meat/mats you need.
Class: Druid
Timed: N/A — Data is based on a single loop of the full route
- Chunk of Boar Meat – 53
- Scorpid Stinger – 42
- Crawler Claw – 23
- Crawler Meat – 22
- Boar Ribs – 16
- Crocolisk Meat – 11
- Raptor Egg – 12
- Strider Meat – 2
Vendors
These vendors sell special goods, meaning they’re limited supply. If someone buys one of these first, there’s a timer on when they’ll be back in stock. In no way does the list below show every vendor located in this zone.
These vendors may also sell certain recipes or patterns worth obtaining.
Goldmaking
In this Durotar goldmaking section, I’ll be listing items I acquired as I leveled throughout the zone. While I don’t focus on the special vendor items you could obtain within the zone, there is a chance for them to fall from open world mob drops.
More specifically, you’re able to buy healing potions and such from vendors, but they’re also mob drops, therefore they’ll be in the goldmaking listing below.
